About Program

Program Overview

An introduction into the screen-printing process; over one weekend you will be taught how to physically print your own design from scratch. Participants will be guided through the different stages of the screen-printing process from design through to a finished product.

Program Outline

The weekend will begin with an introduction to screen print examples following which you will be taught how to print a two-colour image.

Participants will explore ideas and concepts through sketching prior to making separations for each of the two colours.

You will be taught the process involved and will learn how to expose your own screen.

During the two-day workshop you will spend time printing, enabling you to develop the skills learnt.

Additionally, you will create your own small edition of two- colour screen prints onto A5 sized paper.

This will be followed with time to reflect on the work you have produced.

    Orange_ade Design & Illustration

Adrian Reid is an illustrator, graphic designer and printmaker based in Aberdeen, Scotland.

He is an alumnus of Gray’s School of Art and is the creator behind Orange_ade Design and Illustration. Reid specialises in creating colourful, vibrant artwork which depicts both a quirky and cheeky appearance.

Each of his artworks start in the form of a sketch. Later the designer transfers his drawings into Adobe Illustrator software before finally transferring his designs onto a silk screen for printing. This crossover between digital and analogue processes is one of the main driving forces behind his work.
