Program Outline
Throughout the duration of the course you will be introduced to a number of fundamental jewellery making techniques these include: Saw piercing, soldering, texturing and riveting - a technique also referred to as a ‘cold connection’.

You will be taught how to use a variety of equipment safely, whilst being guided through several different processes. Furthermore, you are provided with the opportunity to experiment.
Over this 6-week period, active discussions will take place with a focus on shape, form, pattern and texture. These discussions are combined with the chance to explore the use of various tools and their functions with the aim to develop different textures.
Through this process you will begin to understand the tolerances of different materials and develop a basic understanding of how to join different materials together. As part of this you will create a selection of test pieces that can be used for future reference.
