Program Overview
The course supports students in developing their academic identity and skills in preparation for postgraduate study. Students will be exposed to and explore the scope and features of the creative and cultural industries, thereby developing academic skills, particularly in the areas of enquiry, research and communication.

The study materials allow students to develop a range of academic, creative business and professional skills which will allow graduates to join a postgraduate degree at RGU. This is an online course taught through

A typical week for a student will entail reading/watching/listening to lecture materials and various further required and optional published materials; participating in asynchronous (and sometimes synchronous) group learning activities such as debates and live chats; solo learning activities such as formative assessment quizzes; joining 'check-in' sessions with their personal tutor; and personally directed library research. Live sessions will be recorded where possible for watching on-demand, will usually run for up to one hour, with an indicative class size of 20.

As an online course, independent study includes both course-directed activities to be completed asynchronously and self-directed study.
Staff Delivering on This Course
The course is taught by staff from existing subject areas including international tourism and hospitality, information management, digital marketing, strategic marketing, public relations, media and business analytics. External speakers will also be engaged as appropriate. Most staff are Fellows and Senior Fellows of Advance HE and several have been recipients of STAR Awards.
