Program Overview
This accredited MSc International Marketing degree from Robert Gordon University will develop your knowledge and understanding of domestic and international marketing theory and current business management practices. On successful completion you will be able to make an immediate and effective contribution to operations within the field of marketing.
By studying the MSc International Marketing course you will develop an understanding of the complex nature of international marketing, compared to the domestic market, in areas such as culture, social structures, politics, economy, technology and legal systems. You will study and analyse consumer attitudes to products and business and look at the behaviour of the customer in a rapidly changing world. Digital aspects of marketing are emphasised throughout the course and you will develop a solid understanding of the knowledge and skills within this area.
Program Outline
Stage 1
You will gain a solid understanding of marketing and its key functional areas including business marketing and innovation, strategic digital communications, and global marketing management. Transferable skills in communication, teamwork and presentation are also developed.
Stage 2
You will continue to develop your specialist skills, in-depth knowledge and practical experience. You will present a written research proposal for submission, which will normally form the basis for the master's dissertation or project. A four week period of professional industry experience is undertaken at the end of the taught modules.
Stage 3
The Project/Dissertation can take the form of a practical project as an alternative to the traditional academic dissertation of 15,000 words. You will work independently but under tutorial supervision, to undertake the research and prepare the project/dissertation.

You will learn through a combination of lectures, seminars and workshop sessions. These comprise of a mix of group activities, case studies, individual learning, discussion, simulation and presentations.
Text books, academic journals and professional marketing related commercial publications will provide you with additional knowledge and understanding of the subject.

The International Marketing MSc can be successfully completed within 12 - 14 months.
Independent Study
The course requires you to become independent 'open learners' and take responsibility for when, where and how your learning occurs. You will spend approximately 10-20 hours per week working on your own, undertaking prescribed reading, preparing for group activities and researching and writing course reports.
