Program Description:
This interdisciplinary program tackles environmental issues with a focus on research and development, teaching, management, regulation, and consultancy. The curriculum covers various aspects of sustainability, including:
- Science and Technology: renewable energy, green technology, clean energy, climate change science, environmental monitoring and management.
- Policy and Politics: environmental law, ethics, social science, political ecology, environmental governance.
- Management and Practice: project management, environmental impact assessment, environmental economics, business sustainability, circular economy. The program offers a unique "Living Lab" experience, allowing students to participate in and research real-world sustainability initiatives carried out on Keele's 600-acre campus. This includes projects like the Low Carbon Energy Generation Park, the HyDeploy and HyDEX hydrogen technology projects, and the Smart Energy Network Demonstrator.
Outline:
The program can be completed in one year (full-time) or two years (part-time), with a September or January start date. Students will complete 180 credits to obtain the MSc qualification, comprising:
- 120 credits of taught modules: 60 credits core and 60 credits optional.
- 60 credit dissertation
