Program Outline

Course overview

Are you looking to take the next step in your career, or develop your knowledge in business?

If you are asking these questions, then look no further, we have the right programme for you.

At the University of East London, we continuously strive to advance you via our apprenticeship scheme. Working within government guidelines and employers to directly contribute to the development of apprenticeship courses.

Join us on a journey, with a programme that is dual accredited by the Chartered Management Institute, that would also lead to the professional Chartered Manager qualification (CMgr). The course is delivered via BSc (Hons) Practitioner in Organisational Management and Leadership, taking your knowledge, skills, and behaviours to the next level, while allowing you to work, earn and learn.

As an apprentice you will receive an excellent grounding in all aspects of business, covering key theories, issues, and specialisms. The focus will be on how to manage people and resources, with the course integrating key goals of leadership, strategy and organisational management.

What qualifications will I get?

  • BSc (Hons) Practitioner in Organisational Management and Leadership
  • Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (CMDA) Level 6 certificate
  • CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management & Leadership
  • You become a Chartered Manager

  • What else do we offer?

  • Affiliate membership (ACMI), access to Management Direct - an online learning tool which has apprentice lead learning journeys and resources, specific to your apprenticeship standard to support learning. Digital resources in the form of guidance, video, toolkits, webinars, masterclass and introduction and best practice events to support apprentices and partners through their learning and preparing for assessment.
  • Proactive personal support from CMI staff including engagement managers, Apprenticeship and Assessment experts and our EPA team to help the training provider and apprentices whilst they are on programme.
  • Quality assurance, access to the Career Development Centre and 'Career Pulse' diagnostic tool, access to the mental health support platform, and access to Mentoring.

  • What will you learn?

To develop a critically evaluative professional practice, incorporating the capacity to extend your own learning, whilst investigating and using theory to inform and develop your practice. As an intentional manager you will gain the ability to communicate across all levels of an organisation or sector.

A systematic understanding of management, leadership and associated topics in organisations and gain the knowledge, skills and behaviours to achieve Chartered Manager status.

To lead and synthesise innovative developments, strategies and approaches through the exercise of initiative and personal responsibility. To build sustainable success in your organisation, making full use of all the specific subjects you have addressed to take carefully judged decisions in a wide range of situations.

    Delivery

This programme is face-to-face delivery, in company mentoring and self-study.

Our usual offer is day-release mode. However, we would also consider concentrated teaching blocks over multiple days subject to numbers, and in cases where geographical limitations make this necessary.

    Entry requirements

As an apprentice you will need to be employed in the field of study, be 18 years old and have at least two A levels or equivalent, for example BTech or level 3 apprenticeship. In addition, you must have GCSE English and maths at A-C, or grade 4 and above.

Non-levy: As an employer that doesn't pay the apprenticeship levy, you contribute just 5% towards the cost of training and assessing an apprentice.

The apprentice will not be required to pay any fees.

I started my apprenticeship journey with UEL in 2018, I hadn't been in any form of academia since college for my electrical apprenticeship in 2007, and I had never been exposed to academic writing, assignments, and referencing.

UEL enabled me to unlock potential in myself, which resulted in me defying my own expectations by achieving a First, and less than 3 months after completing my course I was offered a full manager's role at Savills."
