On successful completion, you will be able to:

  • Examine the process of assessment and problem identification in the planning and evaluation of patient centred care.
  • Discuss the therapeutic interventions utilised in the management of the acutely ill adult, acknowledging complex clinical needs.
  • Recognise the guidelines and policies upon which practice is based.
  • Critically analyse how learning from this module has transformed your understanding of your practice.

    This module is available to study at levels 5, 6 or 7 and therefore may be used as part of an award such as the Diploma in Professional Studies, the BSc (Hons) Paramedic Practice Development or the MSc Paramedic Practice Development.  Students who successfully complete this module as a stand-alone module will be eligible for a University transcript of credit. Completion of this programme of study will enhance employability and career prospects. This may manifest in a number of ways, for example, you may use this qualification to gain promotion within your professional role or to develop or extend your sphere of practice.

    Timetables

    The teaching timetable should be available from the end of August. Access to the timetable is through the Student Hub – you will be able to access the Student Hub after you have completed online registration. The teaching day is 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday; please keep your other commitments open until confirmation of your teaching timetable, and bear in mind that many courses will offer placements or fieldwork which sometimes extends into the evenings and weekends.
