    Course summary

As a core module across a range of programmes the activities and feedback that you will receive throughout the evidence based practice module are designed to enhance both your clinical and academic skills.

Are you confident that what we do in practice is the best way of doing it ? Are we providing the most effective treatment or giving the best advice, and do you know how to locate and evaluate the most up to date information that will enable you to achieve these objectives ?

Undertaking the evidence based practice module will enhance your ability to ask the relevant questions and to hone the skills needed to answer them.

On completion of the module, you will be able to:

  • Demonstrate the skills of locating high quality evidence that is capable of enhancing decision making in your own sphere of practice
  • Demonstrate how evidence can be manipulated and analyse specific examples of this from your own sphere of practice
  • Discuss how clinical guidelines are developed and how they evolve by analysing specific examples from your own area of practice
