- Research areas: The program welcomes research proposals in diverse areas of Translation Studies, including audiovisual translation, multimodality and translation, reception research and user-centered translation, theater translation, translation theory and history, methodologies for translation, bridging the gap between theory and practice, literary translation, translation as adaptation, translating non-standard language, translating gendered language, postcolonial translation, and translation and censorship.
- Research environment: Students benefit from a well-established international research environment, including a seminar series, an annual postgraduate conference, and dedicated social media platforms.
- Supervision: Joint supervision is available, allowing students to receive guidance in Translation Studies alongside a complementary subject like creative writing, graphic novels, médiéval & renaissance studies, music, law, or medicine.
- External projects: Opportunities exist to contribute to externally funded research projects alongside staff working on related topics.
UK: £4,786 International & EU: £25,290 Prices are based on the annual fee for full-time study. Fees for part-time study are half the full-time fee. Irish nationals who are living in the Common Travel Area of the UK, EU nationals with settled or pre-settled status, and Internationals with Indefinite Leave to remain status can also qualify for home fee status.

- A good undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Classics, English, History, French, German, Italian, Latin, Linguistics, Philosophy, Spanish)
- A 2:1 Honours degree (or equivalent) is usually required
- Candidates with a Masters qualification or with relevant professional experience may also be considered

English Language Requirements:
- International applicants whose first language is not English must meet the following English language requirements:
- IELTS Academic module: 7.0 overall with no subtest under 7.0
- TOEFL ibt: 94 with Reading 24, Listening 24, Speaking 23, Writing 27
- Pearsons PTE Academic: 66 with no subtest less than: Listening 66; Reading 68; Speaking 65; Writing 82
- Cambridge Proficiency in English (CPE) and Cambridge Advanced English (CAE): 185 overall, no subtest less than 185
- Oxford English Test: Oxford ELLT 8, R&L: OIDI level no less than 8 with Reading: 27-28 and Listening: 20, W&S: OIDI level no less than 8
