This program is an interdisciplinary postgraduate program focusing on the languages, history, and archaeology of the Celtic-speaking peoples. It covers the entire span of the Middle Ages from the 6th to the 16th centuries. The program is designed to allow students to explore various specializations while gaining a strong foundation in one or more medieval Celtic languages.
Program structure:
- Two core courses:
- SKILLS AND SCHOLARSHIP IN CELTIC STUDIES (Semester 1)
- THEMES AND DEBATES IN CELTIC STUDIES (Semester 2)
- One optional course per semester:
- SPECIAL OPTION 1 / SPECIAL OPTION 2
- This course is a guided reading directed by a specialist in a field of your choice, culminating in a research essay of around 5,000 words.

- A choice of one Celtic Language course at introductory or advanced level.
- May choose Scottish Gaelic instead if appropriate.
