Assessment:

The assessment strategy incorporates a variety of methods. Each module has its own aims, objectives, learning outcomes, and methods of delivery and assessment. Assessments may therefore take the form of assessed written papers/essays/reports, oral presentations, group and individual research projects, case studies, as well as open/closed book formal examinations. Preparation and support for all assessments are offered through various formative activities designed by module leaders, personal tutors, and library staff. Both formative and summative feedback are constructive. Feedback is provided to students to facilitate reflective engagement with their work and to aid improved performance in student assessments.


Teaching:

The program is delivered through guided self-learning, expositional lectures, and seminars. The course structure and teaching strategies are designed to support independent learning. A student-centered approach is encouraged through experiential learning deployed through role-plays, mooting, advocacy and negotiation exercises, supplemented by videos, computer software, and appropriate library resources.


Contact hours per semester consist of:

  • 48 hours of timetabled delivery of learning and teaching per module
  • 152 hours of guided independent learning
