BA (Hons) Television Production
Overview
The BA (Hons) Television Production course is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the television industry. The course is unique in that it is taught on-site at Maidstone TV Studios, providing students with hands-on experience and industry connections.
Course Structure
The course is divided into three years, with the option to complete a professional practice year. The first year focuses on core units such as Launch, Screen Stories, and Digital News. The second year builds on these skills, with units such as Documentary, Live Production, and Professional Story. The third year focuses on final major projects and critical contexts.

Entry Requirements
The standard entry requirements for the course are:
- 112 UCAS tariff points
- Pass at Foundation Diploma in Art & Design (Level 3 or 4)
- Distinction, Merit, Merit at BTEC Extended Diploma / BTEC National Extended Diploma
- Merit at UAL Extended Diploma
- 112 UCAS tariff points from an accredited Access to Higher Education Diploma in appropriate subject
- 27-30 total points in the International Baccalaureate Diploma with at least 15 IB points at Higher level
- Four GCSE passes at grade 9-4/A*-C including English (or Functional Skills English/Key Skills Communication Level 2)

Graduates will leave with experience working on professional shows with the UK's leading broadcasters, typically gaining three to four credits on projects like FIFA eSports, This Time with Alan Partridge, Family Fortunes, and Jools Holland’s Hootenanny.

- BA (Hons) with Integrated Foundation Year and Professional Practice Year - Five-year program with a foundation year at Farnham Campus, a year of professional placement, and a final year of study.

- Year 2: Documentary film production, exploring the role of the conscious practitioner, live production, elective units in various areas of expertise.
