In 2009, a few dozen tech enthusiasts gathered in a modest venue in Dublin, where big ideas met small ambitions. Fifteen years later, that gathering has grown into Web Summit, a global tech spectacle now hosted in the vibrant city of Lisbon.

Founded by Irish visionaries Paddy Cosgrave, David Kelly, and Daire Hickey, the event has transformed from its modest origins of 150 attendees to an influential arena for technology, uniting more than 70,000 participants from across the globe.

This November, from the 11th to the 14th, Web Summit stands not only as a conference but as a sprawling festival of innovation, where entrepreneurs, policymakers, and technologists converge to chart the future.

This year, Educatly, a fast-growing Ed-Tech platform that helps aspiring international students look for study opportunities abroad, returns to Web Summit with an exhibition and as an attendee.

“We’re exhibiting this year at Web Summit 2024 for the third year,” Educatly’s founder and CEO, Mohmmed El Sonbaty, said, noting last year’s experience when he participated as a speaker and pitched Educatly as an “Impact Start-up.”

Web Summit 2024 offers an ambitious lineup, featuring 1,000+ speakers covering 15 distinct tracks that span the breadth of technology, from AI, fintech, and commerce to SaaS, startups, and beyond.

Professionals from across sectors such as CEOs, investors, media figures, politicians, and cultural icons gather to highlight the challenges and potential of our digital future, successfully achieving the summit’s goal of fostering meaningful connections across industries.

Over the years, the event has brought together more than a million people, establishing itself as a critical platform for networking and thought leadership within the tech industry. Some of its notable speakers over the years include Elon Musk, Stephen Hawking, Serena Williams, António Guterres, Margaret Atwood, and Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan.

While Educatly may not be a speaker this year, our team was able to connect with world leaders and startups from all around the world.

“We are here to learn more and get inspired by the latest tech solutions,” El Sonbaty said. “This event is a way to stay up to date with the latest technology, meeting people from various industries and connecting with people.”

Educatly’s participation in the event highlighted its focus on tech solutions, AI, and machine learning. By engaging with entrepreneurs, policymakers, and investors, Educatly cements its commitment to international partnerships and advancing global education.

At Educatly, we help students find their dream study abroad program from over 100,000 options at top universities in their chosen countries.
